Your next move

We’re a bunch of everyday people who are passionate about what we do - building better customer experiences. If working with colleagues who care about getting a job done well, while keeping on top of innovations in your field sounds ideal, then look at our latest openings below.

Why Profound?

The people that work here are why our clients keep coming back to us. They are also the number one reason mentioned by Profounder’s when asked why they like working here. We regularly ask our team to give feedback through an anonymous survey and these are the results from Dec 2021:

100% of respondents said they like working here because of their colleagues (on an open-ended question too - we must be a nice bunch)

82% said that they liked working with modern technologies and having the ability to try new techniques on projects

85% said they took the job because of the projects we have worked on

So, there you have it – we are a combination of people who get on well, we work for interesting clients and our team have frequent opportunities to innovate.

We also truly believe in the work-life balance; and that isn’t just lip service. One of our founders Tim started his business so he could spend more time at home with his young children, and that ethos of respecting and prioritising people’s lives outside of work still matters to us. We don’t operate an always-on culture and the respect we show our team is expected in reverse with everyone honouring the commitments we make to our clients. It allows for a flexible but manageable working environment. As over 40% of our staff have been with us for more than 3 years, and the remaining 60% have joined in expansion roles, we take this as a sign we have the work-life balance right.

Our differences make us stronger.

We believe that building better customer experiences can only be done when we can hear about different perspectives. That is why we create an inclusive and conducive working environment for all our team.

Currently we span a wide mix of ages, from 19 to 56 with a quarter of the team identifying as female. We are also a global bunch with 42% of us speaking more than one language and 56% of us living in, or coming from a multi-cultural home.

We are highly empathetic to each other’s working needs, whether it’s leaving space for the school run, helping adapt information to an appropriate format, or setting up learning sessions to share findings and new information with each other. Everyone has the power to help each other and state what they need to work in the best way possible.

Apprenticeships and graduate schemes

Every year we take on an apprentice to join us, typically by starting in our Service Delivery team with opportunities to move into any area of the business if desired. We also take on graduates to our Engineering team through our partnership with Lincoln University.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship you need to be over 16 and not in full time education. We offer a 15-month apprenticeship through an accredited City & Guild process. It involves working 5 days a week with one of those days dedicated for coursework, exams, and meeting with your tutor. When a position is open it will appear in the job list above to apply. Here is what our current apprentice says about his experience with us:

Lucas Turner

2021 Profound Apprentice

“Joining Profound through the Apprenticeship scheme has been an amazing experience. I have been able to learn so much more than if I were to take a course based on a single subject since I have had the opportunity to learn about various things that we do within Profound that I wouldn't have learned about otherwise. The team at Profound have been friendly and very helpful, even if I’ve been asking questions about something simple. They have helped me learn that asking questions isn’t a bad thing and have encouraged me to learn things that I never thought I would. Having nearly completed my apprenticeship over the past 12 months and learning so much, I’m looking forward to the next steps with Profound.”

We also take on graduates to our Engineering team through our partnership with Lincoln University to help develop tech-led industry and innovation in the area. That is why our Lincoln office is at the university. As part of our partnership, Profound offers placements to graduates of Lincoln University in our software engineering team. You must have graduated within the last 2 years from Lincoln university to be eligible. When a position is open, it will appear in the job list above to apply. We give extensive on-the-job training to all our graduates, giving them the chance to work across internal and client projects under the guidance of experienced team members.

Ethan Richardson

2021 Profound Graduate

“Joining Profound via the Graduate scheme has been a genuine life changer. It’s difficult enough to find your first job after graduating from University. Even if you are successful in finding a job, chances are that it might turn out to be a bad one. I can say with confidence that I've hit the ground running in my career by joining the team at Profound as a graduate. The entire team at Profound are friendly and never shy away from my barrage of questions. They’ve inspired me with confidence and given me the opportunity to grow. I've gone from writing mediocre code to developing real websites, including the Agency’s own. Now that I've come to the end of the Graduate scheme, I’m excited to continue to the next step in my career with Profound.”
